#Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge #71 Cover & Colour

This is my first day and attempt at a Haiku, a word I only learnt today in this context.

So, the challenge is; Prompt words = Cover and Colour; Haiku = Poem, 3 lines, syllable formation = 17, in 5-7-5 succession.

The Dog is barking
Amongst the sudden raindrops
There arc’s a rainbow

    It’s a nice attempt!

You wanted to keep it ‘there’ or ‘their’ in that third line?

    Love and light ❤

    Anand 🙂

Great job on your first haiku! Welcome to the family!

  4. Good and groovy! Welcome to your new addiction 😀 😉

    • I absolutely love your blog, I am always in admiration to those living off the land, creatively, and healthily, your blog has intrigued me more than any other! I in recent years have again tried my hand at growing, gardening, foraging, and once worked for conservation volunteers Ireland. I look forward to seeing your posts & catching up on past posts 🙂

      • Well hello to you neighbor (practically!). Thank you for your kind words. And great timing for them as I was feeling a bit discouraged this morning about something on the farm and that was very uplifting for me to read. You just never know when a wee word or two will make a big impact! Hugs!!

      • Keep up the great work, stay warm, must be tad chilly your side now! Tis here. Looking forward to perusing more via your blog. Best of luck wintering on the farm 🙂

      • Yes, bitter cold and the wind is picking up, though it was a nice start to the day. You stay warm also. Think I’m going to go crochet and relax a bit while as rain is now starting. You enjoy your day also. 🙂

Strangely reminiscence of Firesign Theatre. I hope to see more of your thoughts.

“Announcer: Los Angeles. He walks again by night! Out of the fog. Into the smog (cough cough). Relentlessly. Ruthlessly (“I wonder where Ruth is”). Doggedly (dogs bark) Toward his weekly meeting with . . . the unknown. At 4th and Drucker he turns left, at Drucker and 4th he turns right, he crosses McArthur Park & walks into a great sandstone building! (“Oh my nose!”) Groping for the door, he steps inside, and climbs the 13 steps to his office. He walks in. He’s ready for mystery. He’s ready for excitement. He’s ready for anything. He’s…
Nick Danger (picking up ringing phone): Nick Danger, third eye!
Phone Voice: Yes. I want to order a pizza to go, and no anchovies.”

I think this Haiku making could become addictive. I love the imagery of a wet dog, rain, and rainbow.
